Home/My software does not work

Door two

My software does not work.

Sometimes that means things break. More often it means nobody is quite sure how anything is set up, half the licences are wrong, and the answer to “where is that file” depends on who you ask. Our team takes that over.

The symptom

Nobody owns it, so everybody works around it.

There is rarely a dramatic failure. There is a slow tax: the workaround everyone learned, the password shared in a text, the computer that has not restarted since last year.

It gets paid quietly, in time. And it is invisible until the day somebody leaves, or a laptop is stolen, or an invoice gets paid to an account nobody checked.

Sound familiar

  • You are not sure who has access to what
  • Two people keep two versions of the same list
  • Licences you pay for that nobody uses
  • Backups exist, but nobody has ever restored one
  • The person who set it up no longer works here
  • Something breaks and there is no one to call
Evidence

What we take over

Five jobs, done continuously.

Managed technology is not a repair service. It is somebody being responsible for these five things every week, whether or not anything went wrong.

  1. Identity

Who is allowed in, from where, on what device. Multi-factor authentication on everyone including administrators, conditional access rules, and a proper leaver process.

  2. Devices

Every computer enrolled, encrypted, patched and monitored. Exploited vulnerabilities are now the most common way into a business. Patching on a schedule is not housekeeping, it is the front door.

  3. Microsoft 365

Licences right-sized, mail protected, sharing controlled, configuration backed up. Most estates we open are paying for seats nobody has used in months.

  4. Backup and restore

Data and configuration backed up, and restores actually tested on a schedule. A backup you have never restored is a belief, not a plan.

  5. Support and reporting

One number, a named person, and a quarterly report in plain English showing what happened and what should change.

Evidence

The two numbers that change the odds most.

One control does more than everything else combined. It is free with the licence you already own, and most businesses have it switched on for staff but not for administrators.

99.22%

reduction in the risk of an account being compromised when multi-factor authentication is switched on, measured across the whole account population.

98.56%

of attacks were still stopped by MFA even where the password had already leaked, across 128,000 accounts with known stolen credentials.

Licences

You are probably paying for seats nobody uses.

This is the least glamorous part of the work and often the fastest to pay for itself. Audits of real Microsoft 365 estates keep finding the same thing.

We do the count in the first month, hand you the list, and let you make the call. Whatever we find is yours to keep. It is not a saving we share in.

56%

of Microsoft 365 licences audited were inactive, oversized or unassigned. Reclaiming them alone cut total cost by 14%.

CoreView M365 Licence Optimization Report

42%

of licences in Office 365 E3 estates were unassigned, and another 16% could drop to a cheaper plan based on real usage.

CoreView M365 Licence Optimization Report

45%

of the applications inside an organisation in 2026 are shadow IT, bought by a department or a person, not by anyone managing risk.

Backups

Confidence is not the same as a tested restore.

Almost every business we meet believes it is covered. Very few have watched a restore finish.

Modern ransomware goes looking for the backups first, which is why we test restores on a schedule and put the result in the quarterly report. If it has not been restored, we do not call it a backup.

28%

of organisations fully recovered their data after a ransomware attack. Forty-four percent got back less than three quarters of it.

Veeam Data Trust and Resilience Report, 2026

89%

of ransomware victims had their backup repositories deliberately attacked, with an average third of repositories altered or deleted.

Veeam Ransomware Trends, 2025

8%

of organisations test their backups once a year. Only 15% test daily.

Straight answers

Before you book.

Do you replace our current IT person?

Usually we work alongside them. Plenty of businesses have someone capable who is drowning in tickets and never gets to plan. We take the routine load and the security baseline so they can do the work only they can do.

What about after hours?

The tiers cover business hours, and that is deliberate. We would rather price honestly than promise a night shift we cannot staff. Monitoring runs continuously, and genuine emergencies are handled. If you need a guaranteed overnight response, say so on the call and we will tell you plainly whether we are the right choice.

How long is onboarding?

Two to four weeks for most companies. The first week is discovery and documentation, then we bring identity and devices up to baseline in stages so nobody is locked out of their own work.

Will you make us change everything?

No. We start with what you have and fix the order of it. Replacing software is a separate decision with its own process, and we will not make it for you in month one.

Do you handle compliance?

We build and hold the technical controls insurers and auditors ask for, and produce the evidence. We are not your auditor, and we will not pretend a baseline is a certification.

Next step

Let’s find out what should change first.

A discovery call is thirty minutes. We ask about the business, not the software. You leave knowing what we would do first and what it would cost, whether or not you hire us.

What happens on the call

  1. You talk, we listen

Ten minutes on what is actually going wrong and what you have already tried.

  2. We name the first move

One recommendation, in order of priority, with the reason behind it.

  3. You get a number

A real price range before you leave the call. No proposal cycle, no chasing.

No sales script. No obligation. If we are not the right fit we will say so and point you somewhere better.
